Welcome to our casa! Photo by Helene Toresdotter
Our garden has a fully equipped outdoor kitchen under roof, a pool, a sun terrace, some citrus trees, an olive tree, agapanthus and rosemary …
The garden furniture is classical – large dining table with chairs, sun loungers, sofa, small tables and a couple of contemporary chairs. Furtheron a large umbrella, hammocks, cushions, plaids and some hurricanes!
We just love our outdoor kitchen! Spend lots of time out here; preparing meals, eating, drinking, talking, reading, resting … Here we find shade during the hottest hours.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a barbecue, a gas cooktop, large refrigerator, running hot and cold water, a hammock …
Around the pool is the sun terrace with sun loungers, a bench, small tables and a place for resting and reading in a shady corner. The view over the Tramontana mountains is magical from up here …
The pool measures 6 x 3,5 meters and is about 1,4 meters deep. It is covered in turquoise mosaic and has steps leading down.
Our ”pool man”, comes up to the house twice a week during high season and takes good care of it!
Pool towels are provided.
Our house is situated high up within the old village. A marvelous view over the roof tops and the Tramontana mountains. No cars, low steps instead of streets. The only sound is from the sheep, the cats, the donkey … A truly idyllic place for everyone!

Fornalutx has received many awards throughout the years; best preserved medieval village, most beautiful village in Spain etc etc. And this is quite correct – it is actually fantastic here!
But that´s not the thing with Fornalutx, not for us anyway. We love the calmness, the mood, the kindness and the openness. That this village is for real. That it has a local population, a grocery store, a pharmacy, a hairdresser, a bakery, a sports bar, a mayor, a placa …
Simply a vivid society that welcomes us in an honest way!
They make their paella over open fire and serve lovely small dishes too. The place is bohemian yet fresh!
We love living in a small village, we do so in Sweden too. But sometimes it´s really nice to get in the car and hit for Palma de Mallorca!
We normally take a walk from the Cathedral to Bar Bosh for a coffee or so and then maybe some shopping in the old village. Or why not in Santa Catalina? Perhaps lunch in Portixol?
Once in the car back to Fornalutx, we are really homesick and realize that we are so lucky to be living in the most beautiful village in the world!
